The Development Story
Laboratoriya was my first ever true experience working inside the Game Development industry. From team conflicts & numerous script rewrites to overcoming our own obstacles to create a 30 minute game (the longest of all submissions that year); it truly opened my eyes to what Game Development is, and would soon play a major factor in why I fell in love with this industry.

This project ran from December 2020 - May 2021. During that time, I learnt how to use Unity, the Fungus plugin and how to package a title for PC.
In the beginning my work was heavily focused on story and script writing. For this, I used Google Docs and software such as Twine to layout my dialogue options in a visual format. I prototyped and rewrote several parts of the script to improve player agency and to help the Designers understand the story options and story direction.
Later on during the project I was fully stuck in. Working using Fungus' flowcharts inside the Unity engine, creating chapters two - five solely on my own and implementing them within the game.
By the end, I knew how to operate and get the most out of the camera system, load new scenes and also showcase the characters and their personalities through gameplay.
